We at Habitat Hernando want to make sure everyone stays safe in the case of large scale disaster such as a hurricane.

If you or a loved one need help in preparation of such an event,
we have a few sources that may help you. Resources will be updated over time.

Self-serve sandbag site openings

In the case of a hurricane, the Hernando County Sheriffs Office will open up self serving sand bag sites that can be seen on their facebook page and website,, or call them at (352)754-6830 for more information.

If such a disaster is imminent, we will do our best to have accurate and relevant information on this subject as soon as such information is released.

Sandbag sites are self-serve only, please bring your own shovel.
